American Bankers Association Foundation brings Cashy's gamified fraud and scam lessons to banks nationwide

The American Bankers Association Foundation is offering Cashy’s gamified fraud and scam prevention lessons to banks across the country, free to every bank that registers for its financial education programs. The collaboration launched on September 30, 2026, and the Foundation announced it as part of its 24th annual Get Smart About Credit Day on October 15.

The ABA Foundation runs the banking industry’s national volunteer financial education programs: Get Smart About Credit for teens and young adults, Teach Children to Save, and Safe Banking for Seniors. This year more than 4,800 banker volunteers have committed to teaching nearly 237,000 students and young adults through Get Smart About Credit alone. The Cashy lessons are available across all three programs, to member and non-member banks.

“Get Smart About Credit helps bankers leverage their valuable real-world experience and expertise to deliver engaging lessons for the next generation that will make a real difference in their communities. This year, we are offering new resources that will make it even easier for bankers to connect with teens and young adults so they can develop the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions.”

How a session works

A banker picks an audience age and a session length, from 20 to 60 minutes, and launches a session that guides the room from start to finish. Each session combines a fraud presentation with speaker notes and discussion questions and a live game the audience plays together, including Fraud Bingo, which runs on printed cards with no devices needed. Sessions can be delivered in person or virtually, so a volunteer who has never taught the topic can run one without building a lesson.

The Foundation launched the lessons with a webinar for banks, Getting Smart About Financial Education, where Tori Pappas of EverBank shared how her bank runs Cashy across its volunteer program. The lessons are listed on the ABA Foundation’s financial education page as a Gamified Workshop from Cashy.

“Bankers want to bring fraud education to their communities, but most don’t have time to build a lesson from scratch, and not everyone feels comfortable presenting. We made it plug and play: pick your audience, hit start and the game carries the session. Our goal is not only to bring fraud education to communities across the country, but to do it in a way that makes people smile, cheer, and jump from their chairs.”
