Five Points Bank partners with Cashy to bring gamified financial education to Hastings classrooms

Cashy, the gamified financial education platform for banks and credit unions, today announced a partnership with Five Points Bank, the Nebraska community bank. The partnership brings Cashy’s co-branded games, presentations, and self-paced lessons to teachers and students in Hastings for the 2026-27 school year, starting at Hastings Senior High School.

Founded in 1971 by the Marshall family and still family rooted, Five Points Bank has grown to more than $2.7 billion in assets and eighteen offices across Nebraska, in Grand Island, Hastings, Kearney, Lincoln, Omaha, and Papillion. Hastings Senior High is the first school to join the bank’s Cashy program.

Financial education at the bank starts at the top. When local high schools and middle schools invite him in, bank president Terry Anstine goes himself and talks with students about the basics: budgeting, saving, and not spending more than you make. The sponsorship carries that work into the classroom for the whole school year, with the school’s business teachers running Cashy’s games and lessons week to week.

Proposed quote, for Terry to confirm

“I have gone into classrooms for years to talk with students about money, and the sessions that stick are the ones where the kids are involved, not sitting through a lecture. That is what Cashy gives these teachers every week, so we were glad to fund it.”

Cashy replaces slide-based financial education with live game shows, interactive presentations, and self-paced lessons. Banks and credit unions use it three ways: their own staff run workshops in schools, branches, and community events; they sponsor schools so teachers can run it in class; and they embed a self-paced learning center on their website. Everything is co-branded to the institution, and every session feeds one analytics dashboard. More than 45 banks and credit unions use Cashy today.

The Cashy platform: the library of games and interactive presentations a teacher runs sessions from
The Cashy platform. A teacher or a banker picks a game or a presentation and runs the session from one screen.

In class Cashy runs like a game show. Students compete, argue about their choices, and ask to keep playing after the bell. Teachers get sessions they can run with no prep and no presenting experience, and a full semester-long curriculum behind them, unit by unit, with student progress tracked and grading handled automatically. Student and teacher accounts at the school are unlimited, and every screen carries the Five Points Bank name. Other teachers in Nebraska can request access at cashygame.com/teachers.

“Our mission is to make financial education engaging, so people want to learn. A teacher in Hastings went looking for exactly that and found us, and Five Points Bank funded it the same month. Partners like them are how schools get it for free.”
