Cashy and Kadince run a Gen Z webinar for 258 banks and credit unions

Cashy and Kadince ran a joint webinar for 258 banks and credit unions on June 3, 2026, on how to reach Gen Z with financial education.

The session, Smarter Financial Education Strategies to Close the Gen Z Gap, was co-hosted by Bart Liechty of Kadince. The session opened with the figure that frames the problem: 80 percent of Gen Z say social media is their top source of financial education.

Rather than presenting slides about short-form video, the hosts played real TikToks with the audience and then ran a live round of Cashy’s Money Talk game covering college debt, the housing market, jobs, and AI.

“258 banks and credit unions signed up for one webinar about Gen Z. The interest in reaching younger members is clearly there. What most institutions are still looking for is a format that can hold attention against everything else on a phone, and that is what we build Cashy to do.”

Mart Vainu, CEO, Cashy

What the session actually did

Money Talk is one of five live games in the platform and runs as a question-and-discussion format across 18 topic packs, from saving and budgeting through fraud, homebuying, and paying for college. On the webinar it was used the way an institution would use it in a branch or a classroom, with the audience answering on their own devices and the answers driving the conversation.

Why the format was the point

The subject of the session was how younger audiences take in information, so running it as a lecture would have argued against itself. Attendees answered on their own devices and the answers drove the discussion, which is how the same game runs in a branch or a classroom.

Kadince works with community banks and credit unions on their community reinvestment and giving programs, which put both companies in front of the same teams.
