AUSTIN, Texas · September 2026
Silver State Schools Credit Union featured its Cashy workshops on KLAS Las Vegas Now in September 2026, in a back-to-school segment titled Back to School Financial Literacy 101 with Silver State Schools Credit Union.
Seven Clark County educators founded the credit union in 1951 as Clark County Teachers Federal Credit Union, and it marks its 75th year in 2026. Today it serves nearly 70,000 members from ten branches across Las Vegas, Henderson, and North Las Vegas, with $1.3 billion in assets. Financial education in local schools has been part of its work from the start, and the education team ran more than 400 workshops last year, from kindergarten classrooms through adult education. Silver State Schools Credit Union has used Cashy since April 2026.
On air, JimDre Westbrook, who leads the credit union’s education work, explained how the team keeps a long session engaging.
“We’re just not lecturing for an hour, we also have gamification. So we have a lot of cool partners, such as Cashy, where we can make this thing fun, entertaining, engaging, as well as educational.”
JimDre Westbrook, Vice President of Community Impact & Advocacy, Silver State Schools Credit Union, on KLAS Las Vegas NowHigh school workshops at Silver State Schools Credit Union can run up to 90 minutes. The team mixes Cashy presentations with live games through the session, so students move between short teaching moments and rounds they play on their own devices. Credit Survivors, a game about credit utilization and on-time payments, and the Life Game, a multi-round simulation of budgeting, career, housing, and investing decisions, are the favorites. After the credit game came out, one school asked the team to come back and run it again as a refresher.
Customer story How Silver State Schools Credit Union makes hour-long workshops interactive with Cashy Read the full story“Silver State Schools Credit Union ran more than 400 workshops last year, so when its team goes on television and names gamification as what keeps a room engaged, that comes from a lot of time in front of students. It is the same thing we hear from education teams across the country, and it is why every Cashy session is built around a game the whole room plays.”
