AUSTIN, Texas · September 2026
Cashy, the gamified financial education platform for banks and credit unions, today announced a partnership with Teutopolis State Bank, the Illinois community bank. The partnership brings Cashy’s co-branded games, presentations, and self-paced lessons to teachers and students in Teutopolis for the 2026-27 school year, starting at Teutopolis High School.
Teutopolis State Bank has been on Main Street in Teutopolis since 1913, independent and locally owned the whole time. It holds $358 million in assets and serves families, businesses, and farms from three offices in Teutopolis, Effingham, and Sigel. Teutopolis High School, at the other end of that same Main Street, is the first school to join the bank’s Cashy program.
The partnership started with a teacher. Teutopolis High School’s business teacher has been running Cashy’s games in her own classroom since 2023 and asked for a local sponsor so the school could keep them. The bank describes its community work as leaving “a lasting footprint in the communities where we live, work, and enjoy life.” The sponsorship carries that work through the full school year, with the school’s teachers running Cashy’s games and lessons week to week.
“About ninety percent of our customers graduated from that school. We are a small community and we help out where we can, so this was an easy one to say yes to. If the students remember any of it, that is money well spent.”
Justin Deters, Loan Officer, Teutopolis State BankCashy replaces slide-based financial education with live game shows, interactive presentations, and self-paced lessons. Banks and credit unions use it three ways: their own staff run workshops in schools, branches, and community events; they sponsor schools so teachers can run it in class; and they embed a self-paced learning center on their website and in mobile banking. Everything is co-branded to the institution, and every session feeds one analytics dashboard. More than 50 banks and credit unions use Cashy today, and 17 of them sponsor schools in their own communities.
In class Cashy runs like a game show. Students compete on their own devices, argue about their choices, and ask to keep playing after the bell. The library runs to 50 interactive presentations, 53 game shows, 12 calculators, and 19 worksheets across 17 topics and 18 audiences. Teachers get sessions they can run with no prep and no presenting experience, and a full semester-long curriculum behind them, unit by unit, with student progress tracked and grading handled automatically. Student and teacher accounts at the school are unlimited, every screen carries the Teutopolis State Bank name, and the bank receives a quarterly report on how the school is using it. Other teachers in Illinois can request access at cashygame.com/teachers.
“A teacher in Teutopolis had been running Cashy in her own classroom since 2023, and when she asked for a local sponsor the bank had an answer that same afternoon. Community banks know their schools by name, which is why they can fund one in a day. Teachers ask us for a sponsor inside the product, and we take that request to the banks in their town.”
Mart Vainu, CEO, CashyCashy turns financial education into live game shows, interactive presentations, and self-paced lessons people remember.
More than 50 banks and credit unions run Cashy in their workshops, on their websites and online banking, and in the local schools they sponsor. Learn more at cashygame.com.
